What is Women Empowerment?
“Women empowerment” is a term that is used a lot these days, especially if the discussion is about nation building. In fact I should say that it is a lot “misused” these days.
If you ask me, it has nothing to do with giving something extra to women. Instead it is about giving equal rights to them, which at the first place they anyways deserved. It is about giving them a freedom to speech, freedom to choose or, in other words it is about creating an environment where women can take decision of their own for their personal benefits as well as for the society.
So, if you are thinking as to what does “Women Empowerment” have to do with fashion, then let me tell you about how I feel. I feel, fashion plays a very vital role in “Women Empowerment”. Fashion is about choosing your own style to express who you are as a person. Moreover your overall outlook or, appearance tells a lot about your personality and the kind of person you are, thereby triggering better interaction, acceptance and the ability to contribute to society.
While I was watching the Rio Olympic games 2016, I noticed a completely different fashion trend, both on and off the ground. The inaugural ceremony as well saw some very colorful fashion trends, and I felt Brazil with its colorful culture, has contributed to this trend as well.
As the Olympics closes, most of these fashion costume from these sportsmen and women, will become trendsetters for something new in fashion. This fashion trend inspired me to creating a few mix and match combinations of those styles and blend it into our everyday clothing and lifestyle.
